Karine Hoffman explores the concepts of suffering, memory and oblivion through her paintings. Her work evokes the possibility of a personal and collective reconstruction linked to a painful memory. Aby Warburg’s concept of ‘survivance’ influenced her work, she produces ghostly environments. The contrasts of colors she creates produces spectral tones, underlined by the presence of the fluorescent colour.
